In what is believed to be one of the largest finds during a
salvage operation, nearly $40 million worth of silver was discovered off the
coast of Ireland. Odyssey Marine Exploration Inc., a British salvage company,
has stated that it has brought up 43.5 tons of silver from the remnants of the
SS Gairsoppa, a cargo ship that sunk during the Second World War. (Source: http://www.christianpost.com/news/ss-gairsoppa-silver-haul-worth-38-million-78591/ )
